Craftsman of the Year 2010

For 2010, the Board of Trustees named Madison's jazzman Jerry Vezza as our Craftsman of the Year.

The ninth New Jersey resident to be so honored, Jerry was cited for excellence in his musical craft and for his commitment and dedication to promoting and enhancing the arts, arts education and cultural activities for the benefit of all. An accomplished band leader and pianist, Jerry is a favorite among Madison area residents. With over 30 years of experience, he has performed alongside many of the jazz greats at marquee venues in New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles and Europe. His repertoire embraces traditional wedding music, the Great American Songbook, Broadway show tunes, jazz standards and classic rock hits.

METC Board Chair Allen Black presented Jerry with his award plaque at the COTY luncheon held at the Madison Hotel on June 6. Jerry and fellow jazzman Rio Clemente delighted the audience with an impromptu duet at the hotel's piano (tuned by Jerry).
