METC invites gardeners and non-gardeners alike on Saturday, April 29 at 1 pm, to the “Early Spring Container Garden Demonstration presented by Beth Riley, a local landscape designer, educator, and owner of The Potted Garden
Ms. Riley will create five unique container gardens to demonstrate how these versatile and portable gardens can accent existing landscaping, dress up a doorway, enhance a terrace, or lighten a shady nook with variegated foliage. At the end of the program these five beautifully crafted container gardens, filled with colorful spring flowers will be available for sale. Proceeds from the sale will support the museum’s education programs.
Ms. Riley has strong connections to Madison and frequently volunteers her time and services by designing gardens for historic sites, including METC. In 2016, she donated both her time and to renovate METC’s Griffin Garden. She has also designed gardens for the Presbyterian Church of Madison, Drew University’s Mead Hall lawn, the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, the Nathaniel Drake House (South Plainfield) and The Madison Public Library.
