Museum Educators – 2 Positions Available

METC is seeking qualified museum educators to join the staff. The position is part-time, and flexible scheduling is available. A commitment of approximately 10-12 hours a week is preferred.

Required for applicants:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent field; an advanced degree in Museum Studies is desired
  • Experience in working with children, individually and in small groups, grades pre-K through 12
  • Experience in working with adults/seniors
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

Job responsibilities include:

  • Ability to teach all programs offered by the Museum, including school, after-school, outreach and adult programs
  • Assistance with the development of activities, curricula, teacher guides and support materials
  • Setting up and preparing the site, equipment and materials for the programs
  • Communication with teachers and chaperones regarding policies, procedures and goals for the program
  • Maintenance of records and reports as directed and required
  • Assistance to Museum staff as needed and directed in Museum operations and programs
